10. Complete referral forms, and make referral appointments.
11. Act as a liaison for physicians.
12. Update the medical record by filing dictation and test results as they return to the department.
13. Pre-certify for surgical procedures and tests.
14. Assist physicians with scheduling.
15. Facilitate completion of forms (ex. W/C, insurance, etc by the physicians.)
16. Other duties as required or requested by Supervisor.
 

Provides leadership for the advancement of professional nursing practice.  Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and re-implementation of clinical programs and interventions to meet the needs of the F6/5 patient population.  Collaborates with physician and nursing leaders as well as other care providers to ensure well-coordinated interdisciplinary programs of care.  Analyzes nursing care practices and evaluates patient outcomes to ensure practice standards and clinical programming meet identified patient outcomes.  Analyzes clinical variances and establishes nursing practice standards consistent with evidence-based practices.  Works closely with other CNS staff across settings to provide staff training and clinical program development.  Integrates research-based practices and practice guidelines, as established by nursing specialty groups or other health care agencies, into educational and professional development activities. 
 
Programmatic responsibilities include baseline needs assessment(s), continued development and evaluation of programs of orientation, inservice education, and continuing education.  Responsible for assisting in coordination of the nurse residency and other programs related to the care providers assigned to F6/5.  Provides support to clinical learning through mentorship, clinical rounds and practice evaluation.  Responsible for the integration and coordination of specialty education programs into the Department of Nursing’s education program. 
 
Possesses a high degree of skill in clinical practice.  Ensures quality patient care through practice and the development and mentorship of nursing staff.  Is active in the management of personnel with responsibilities including input into hiring and performance evaluations.  Applies an extensive knowledge of clinical practice in working with staff members to ensure the progressive development of clinical judgment.  Acts as a consultant to the Clinical Nurse Manager evaluating performance and collaborates in the development and execution of performance improvement plans as warranted.  Assesses staff and clinical practice needs to develop overall programmatic goals and objectives. Possesses an understanding of ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program and the ability to contribute to achieving recognized outcomes.
